Overview
Our client is looking for a Private Client Paralegal.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and drafting of wills, lasting powers of attorney, trusts, and related documentation
- Support the administration of estates from initial instructions through to final distribution, including obtaining probate
- Liaise with clients, financial institutions, and other professionals (e.g. accountants, HMRC)
- Conduct legal research on relevant legislation, case law, and best practices
- Prepare inheritance tax forms and other HMRC documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and records
- Attend client meetings (in person or virtually) and prepare attendance notes
- Manage deadlines and ensure compliance with internal procedures and legal regulations
- Provide general administrative support to the Private Client team
Profile
- Prior experience working in a private client department is highly desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of discretion and professionalism when dealing with confidential information
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
