Job description

  • Flexible, part-time role focused on mentoring and support
  • Key position within a close-knit, down-to-earth team
Are you a seasoned private client solicitor or legal executive who enjoys coaching others and wants to make a meaningful impact without the pressure of a full-time caseload?

A longstanding firm in Wakefield is looking for an experienced lawyer to provide senior guidance and mentoring to their growing private client team. Following recent changes, there’s a clear opportunity for someone with strong technical expertise and a collaborative approach to step in and help shape the department's future.

This is a rare opportunity to focus on supporting junior fee earners, sharing knowledge and insight, and helping the firm retain and develop new talent, without targets or pressure to generate work.

Who we’re looking for
  • A senior private client lawyer (solicitor or legal exec), ideally 10+ PQE
  • Strong experience across wills, probate, trusts, LPAs and complex estates
  • Someone who enjoys mentoring and guiding junior team members
  • Ideally, you’ve led a team or held a Head of Department role in the past
  • Comfortable being office-based in Wakefield for most working days
What you’ll be doing
  • Support and mentor the junior team on technical queries and best practice
  • Dip into complex matters where needed, providing an experienced perspective
  • Help develop new internal processes, training materials, and ways of working
  • Play a key role in building a stable, forward-looking private client offering
This role would be perfect for someone who’s looking to step back slightly but still wants to stay hands-on and add real value to a team.
