- Mott MacDonald Bentley is a fully integrated design and build business combining Mott MacDonald’s design expertise with JN Bentley’s contracting experience to deliver award-winning projects. Role

As a Principal Process Engineer, you’ll work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and communities, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems. You will shape the process engineering function throughout project lifecycles—from concept design to commissioning—ensuring that process aspects are fully considered and integrated.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the design, planning, and execution of process engineering on projects.
• Provide design support and guidance for schemes, ensuring designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards.
• Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions during design, construction and beyond.
• Engage with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one-team approach to achieving their aims.
• Manage interfaces and integration of the process design with other disciplines and the production of documentation.
• Act as technical checker on project documents and undertake technical reviews across teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, including development and implementation of standard designs, sustainable solutions, and digital tools.
• Undertake site reviews to ensure buildability and integration with existing systems.
• Support the development of the process engineering team, coaching and mentoring engineers and identifying suitable resources for projects.

What you’ll need

• Degree in Process Engineering or related field.
• Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience delivering high-quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards.
• Effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.
