Overview

Our Planning Enforcement function is recognised by our elected members for the critical role that it plays in maintaining public confidence in the planning system. This part of our service has made significant progress over the last few years, and we're now looking for an ambitious enforcement officer who is ready to shape the next steps.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on a range of enforcement matters and be responsible for ensuring that complaints are investigated and assessed in accordance with the Council's enforcement policy.
  • Use your considerable planning experience to provide expert advice to guide enforcement decisions and progress cases to formal action where appropriate.
  • Lead on the development of the enforcement team, working collaboratively to meet the service objectives and improve outcomes for the Council.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Councilors, Town and Parish Councils and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure an effective, customer‑focused approach.

  • Experience of planning enforcement work and knowledge of the planning system.
