Job description
Overview

As a Principal Physicist you will be expected to lead medium to large projects or tasks independently, you may oversee teams working on those projects. You will be responsible for technical delivery of the tasks and technical interactions with clients, setting scope and providing solutions to our clients problems.

Responsibilities
  • Detailed knowledge and experience within a physics discipline required in the nuclear industry such as transient analysis, reactor physics, shielding, thermal hydraulics, etc
  • Significant experience within the nuclear sector or academia leading challenging technical projects
  • Ability to assimilate, analyse and provide judgements on complex technical issues clearly and concisely
  • Good consultancy skills, e.g., good communication, teamwork, be adaptable to client requirements and time management skills. Likely to have experience interacting with senior clients, regulators or other senior stakeholders
  • Good commercial awareness and how to effectively solve client issues in a commercially competitive environment
  • Familiar with nuclear safety assessments and safety case construction, Nuclear masters and PhDs preferred or Degree or Post Graduate qualification in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline
  • Ability to assimilate, analyse and provide judgements on complex technical issues clearly and concisely
  • Good consultancy skills, e.g., good communication, teamwork, be adaptable to client requirements, time management skills
