Overview

Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Principal Civil Engineer in our Belfast office, with a flexible hybrid working model. At AECOM, we’re at the forefront of innovation, delivering an exceptional portfolio of water programmes and projects through long-term partnerships with key clients including NI Water, Uisce Eireann (Irish Water), Department for Infrastructure, Scottish Water, and local councils.

In this role, you will be involved in the design and delivery of wastewater infrastructure and lead a talented, diverse team committed to innovation and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Expertise: Be involved in the delivery of projects from concept design through construction delivery. Create concept and detailed designs of wastewater infrastructure. Manage NEC contracts and perform financial project management including change control.
• Deliver: Lead and manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule adherence.
• Innovate: Provide technical expertise and innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges and deliver low carbon design solutions.
• Collaborate: Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to develop a complete design solution that meets current water supply and treatment needs, leveraging a diverse field of Technical Excellence.
• Lead: Manage, mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Chartered engineer certification or progression towards chartership.
• Significant experience in engineering project management and technical leadership.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to sustainability and innovation in engineering practices.
