About the Role

I am recruiting for a skilled Principal Design Engineer to join a growing Development Infrastructure team in London. This is an opportunity to take a leading role within a respected, long-established consultancy known for delivering high-quality engineering solutions across the UK.

As a technical lead, you will guide project delivery, mentor junior engineers, and work closely with clients, architects, and project managers. Your expertise in drainage design, highways engineering, and sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS) will be central to shaping innovative, sustainable solutions for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of infrastructure projects, including foul and surface water drainage, SuDS, and highway layouts.

Oversee production of engineering drawings, technical reports, and calculations.

Manage project teams and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Provide technical leadership, quality oversight, and coaching to junior engineers.

Ensure compliance with current standards (Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Sewers for Adoption, London SuDS guidance, etc.).

Support business development through client engagement and proposal preparation.
