Overview

Job Title: Building Services Engineer (Principal Mechanical)

Location: Manchester & Hybrid (3:2)

Our focus is on sustainability, efficiency, and creating environments that are safe, functional, and comfortable for all users.

Responsibilities
  • Design and Installation: Develop and design mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for a variety of building projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and client specifications.
  • System Integration: Oversee seamless integration of building services systems with a focus on energy efficiency.
  • Project Management: Lead and monitor building services projects from conception through to completion, coordinating with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Sustainability: Promote energy-efficient and environmentally responsible solutions in line with current standards.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all systems are compliant with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a Building Services Engineer role, with strong MEP design and project delivery credentials.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD and building design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, H2X), with thorough knowledge of codes and industry practices.
  • Knowledge: Expertise in energy-efficient technologies, HVAC, and renewable energy systems. Familiarity with electrical systems is also expected.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities for complex system issues.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
