Job Title: Year 1 Teacher (Long term sickness cover)

Contract Type: Full-time, Maternity Cover

About the Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join our vibrant two-form entry primary school in Rochdale, covering a maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive and collaborative team, working in a friendly and well-resourced environment. As a Year 1 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons and supporting the academic and social development of your students in this pivotal year. This full-time maternity cover role will provide you with the chance to make a real impact on the learning and development of young children in their first year of Key Stage 1.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons that are engaging, challenging, and appropriate for Year 1 students.
  • Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages independent learning.
  • Differentiate learning activities to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Track and monitor student progress, providing feedback to both students and parents.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff to ensure a collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, parent evenings, and professional development sessions.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in Year 1 or a similar Key Stage 1 setting.
  • A thorough understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and National Curriculum for Key Stage 1.
  • Strong classroom management skills with a creative and inclusive approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication skills, both with children and colleagues.
  • A commitment to supporting children's well-being and personal development.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
