Year 1 Teacher Maternity Cover (February to July 2026)
Location: Broxbourne, Hertfordshire
Salary: £34,398 £46,839 (dependent on experience)
Contract: Maternity Cover (Feb July 2026)

A warm, community-driven primary school in Broxbourne is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to cover a maternity leave from February through July 2026. The school is well-known for its supportive staff team, nurturing learning environment, and commitment to helping every child flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.

This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about creating engaging, developmental, and structured learning experiences for early KS1 pupils.

About the Role
  • Teach a friendly and eager Year 1 class, supporting their transition and development throughout KS1
  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Deliver strong foundational teaching in phonics, early literacy, and numeracy
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, engaging classroom environment
  • Track and assess pupil progress, using data to inform planning and provide targeted support
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues
  • Contribute to the wider school community and collaborative team culture
What We re Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
