Overview

Primary Academic Coach
Do you want hands-on Year 6 experience before applying for teacher training? Could you deliver sharp, targeted support that lifts SATs outcomes?

Role details: £82 - £101 per day, immediate start until July 2026, based at a good 2-form entry primary school in Yardley. Small group support in Year 6 focused on exam preparation.

Role

Work with the Year 6 team to run short, focused booster sessions in reading, writing and maths. Provide 1:1 and small-group support, reinforce exam technique and timed practice, and help pupils build confidence with tricky topics. Prepare simple resources, track impact, and share clear next steps with class teachers.

Candidate

You\'re a graduate who communicates clearly and keeps sessions purposeful. You can explain concepts in simple steps, motivate pupils, and follow guidance while using your initiative to keep learners on track.

Requirements
  • Degree - A 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication - Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS - Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children - Genuine interest in KS2 and pupil progress.
  • Experience working with children - Any relevant experience (tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
