Job summary

A local childcare provider in Fordingbridge is seeking a Pre-school Practitioner Bank Staff to work with children aged 9 months to 5 years. This role involves assisting the Lead Practitioner by providing engaging play and learning opportunities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. The position is flexible, covering staff absences, with a possibility for more regular hours as the team grows. Passion for childcare and relevant qualifications are key requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience or qualification related to childcare is essential.
  • Commitment to continuous development and possible opportunities to work towards a qualification.
  • Good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Practitioner and staff in providing a stimulating programme of play and learning.
  • Work with children aged 9 months to 5 years in a friendly setting.
  • Cover staff absence and provide consistent support as needed.

We are looking for bank staff to join our team. You will work with children aged 9 months to 5 years in our busy and friendly setting based on the site of the Fordingbridge Infant and Junior School grounds. Assisting the Lead Practitioner and staff in providing a stimulating and varied programme of play and learning opportunities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

This role is Bank staff to help cover staff absence but as we grow there is potential for hours to become more regular.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualification or experience as above
  • Passion and commitment for working in childcare
  • Ability to work flexibly with different age groups
  • Commitment to continual development and possible opportunities to work towards a qualification
  • A good team player with good communication skills
  • Self‑motivation and enthusiasm
Desirable
  • Good knowledge of the EYFS
  • Experience working with babies (9 months+)
