Job description
Job Overview

The post holder will contribute to the delivery of service provision across all treatment pathways, including outpatients, the enhanced treatment team, and flexibly, when needed, day care. They will be joining the service during an exciting period of development and transformation with the scope to develop specialisms within the field. The post holder will receive clinical supervision from an AEDS Principal Clinical Psychologist and will work closely with the AEDS psychological therapies team.

Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical supervision for junior members of staff (qualified and trainees). They will also be expected to provide psychological assessments, formulations, therapeutic interventions (individual and group), and consultation to support people with complex presentations and needs, ensuring early access to assessment and evidence‑based therapy. Furthermore, the post holder will contribute to the generic work of the team to support the optimisation of patient care where needed.

  • Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care; maintain high standards of care in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines, and Trust policies and procedures; act within the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act (2005); and be aware of and implement safeguarding and child protection policies and legislation.
  • Carry out comprehensive psychological and cognitive assessments and formulation; plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of psychological interventions and consultations to support people with specific needs.
  • Actively involve people in developing and agreeing their own care plan, advocate for them, and ensure proper regard for their dignity, choice, self‑esteem, racial, cultural, sexual, and religious needs and preferences.
