Job Summary

The successful candidate will be committed to working collaboratively with service users, carers, and colleagues to create a psychologically safe environment that enables the delivery of effective treatment. The post holder will be required to actively participate in weekly team consultation meetings, and will offer specialist advice, supervision, training, and consultation to other professionals and teams to support effective and efficient psychologically‑informed care and treatment across Bedfordshire and Luton.

We particularly welcome interest from candidates who are committed to co‑producing the development of the care pathway through participation in clinical research, audit and/or quality improvement projects. Newly qualified psychologists could be appointed at Band 7 under a preceptorship to work towards requirements for Band 8a, subject to satisfactory completion of the preceptorship process.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with service users, carers and colleagues to create a psychologically safe environment.

Actively participate in weekly team consultation meetings.

Offer specialist advice, supervision, training and consultation to other professionals and teams.

Support effective and efficient psychologically‑informed care and treatment across Bedfordshire and Luton.

Contribute to clinical research, audit and quality improvement projects.

Qualifications

Successfully completed accredited Mentalization‑Based Treatment (MBT) training and experience supervising others.

Or newly qualified psychologist with Band 7 preceptorship, working toward Band 8a within an 18‑month to 2‑year period, subject to satisfactory completion of the preceptorship process.
