Overview

SEN Post-16 Teacher - Barnet. Start date: ASAP. Contract: Full-time, long term. Remedy Education are looking for a teacher to take on a Post-16 class in a specialist school in Barnet. The students have a range of needs including complex autism, difficulties with communication, and challenges around emotional regulation.

Responsibilities
  • Teach a Post-16 class with a focus on functional skills, independence and life skills.
  • Plan and adapt lessons so that they meet individual EHCP targets.
  • Support students with their communication, using tools such as visuals, PECS or AAC if required.
  • Manage behaviour positively and help young people with emotional regulation.
  • Work with LSAs, therapists and families to ensure consistency and support for each student.
  • Keep accurate records of progress and contribute to reviews.
Qualifications
  • A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience in SEN.
  • Experience working with Post-16 students, ideally with autism and complex needs.
  • A patient, resilient teacher who can stay calm under pressure.
  • Good at working as part of a team, as well as leading a group confidently.
