We are looking for a Podiatrist to support us and the existing teams to work 10 hours a month at HMP Moorland. There is no on‑call or weekend work to allow for a strong work‑life balance.

Main duties of the job

  • You will be self‑motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills.
Job responsibilities

As a Podiatrist working with Practice Plus Group you will:

  • Provide outstanding evidence‑based care, listening and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to patients, focusing on both planned and unplanned care.
  • Deliver non‑judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries. Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.
  • Inspire excellence in your colleagues by managing foot, ankle and lower extremity conditions and motivating the wider team to identify patients at high risk.
  • Forge strong working relationships with the Practice Plus Group healthcare team and the wider Health in Justice Service.
  • Promote best practice, evidence‑based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of reflection and shared learning.
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, supporting your clinical and non‑clinical colleagues to do a great job.
  • Be responsible for your own caseload and waiting list and work as an autonomous practitioner.
Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • HCPC registered with post‑registration experience assessing and treating a range of conditions including diabetic patients, wound management, MSK pathologies and nail surgery.
  • Self‑motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and a submission will be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
