Job description

Gilmartins is a family owned and run business; our staff are valued and our ethos is to promote from within. Our Board of Directors mostly started on the tools themselves so have a hands‑on understanding of the work we do.

We are well established in the social housing sector and provide reactive repairs for local authorities and housing associations.

Gilmartins are looking to recruit experienced Plumber Multi‑Traders with additional trades such as basic electrics, changing / replacing locks, window repairs / boarding up. The ideal trades person will have worked in social housing.

The job requires shift work

between 6pm to 4am Monday to Sunday on a rota basis.

The job requires work and travel all over South London, including Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Southwark, Lambeth and surrounding areas. We are looking for people who live locally and are happy to travel.

Responsibilities

• Carry out property repairs and maintenance works in social housing.
• Work to Scope of Works on PDA for each job.

Requirements

• Full driving license.
• Own tools.
• Time served or qualifications.
• Experience of working in social housing.
• DBS certificate (no more than 3 years ago).
• CSCS card.
• Due to changes in legislation following the Grenfell Inquiry.
