Join our Housing Repairs team as a Multi Skilled Plumber. This role involves carrying out all aspects of plumbing work including general repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment across council-managed buildings and other designated properties. You will also perform multi-skilled tasks to ensure high-quality service delivery and customer care in a cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities
  • Perform plumbing repairs and multi-skilled tasks as per qualifications and agreements.
  • Undertake drainage and groundworks as required.
  • Use IT systems (e.g., PDAs, iPads) to document work in real time.
  • Diagnose tenant-reported issues and communicate effectively with planners.
  • Maintain and operate council vehicles responsibly.
  • Work safely with scaffolding and adhere to safe working methods.
  • Follow Bury Council’s Health & Safety policies and ensure risk assessments are in place.
  • Manage and replenish van stock, including non-standard items.
  • Uphold the Council’s Customer Care Policy.
  • Manage time effectively to meet appointments and report delays.
  • Report additional work requirements clearly for follow-up.
  • Wear and maintain issued PPE and uniform.
  • Accurately record materials used per job.
  • Provide advice and assist in training colleagues.
  • Perform other duties as required, in line with role responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing or equivalent.
  • Experience in a multi-skilled environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Experience in the building industry.
  • Knowledge of safe working procedures.
