Job description

Overview

Plant Fitter required to join a leading Consutrction & Civils company based in their Horsham location. You will be responsible for the safe & cost-effective repair & maintenance of plant & equipment targeting zero defects. This role will be based out of the Horsham workshop but will be required to attend site breakdowns as required so a full UK driving licence is essential.

Plant Fitter Job Overview

• Carry out designated tasks as instructed by Workshop Manager, dealing with any scheduled repairs as well as unscheduled repairs and checks as they arise.
• Diagnose and apply the relevant mechanical and electrical repairs whilst ensuring compliance with any relevant risk assessments and method statements.
• Repair or replace damaged or worn parts and test equipment to ensure any repairs are adequate.
• Carry out fabrication, welding and gas cutting as required.
• Carry out routine servicing of vehicles, plant and equipment, ensuring service records are completed and maintained.
• Carry out diagnostics of vehicles and equipment both in the workshop and on site.

Plant Fitter Job Requirements

• Full UK driving licence - Essential
• Proven ability in a Plant Engineering / Maintenance role
• Experience updating service documentation
• Experience working to H&S standards and following company policy
• Mechanical OR Electrical NVQ / Qualification is highly desirable
