Our client, a prominent entity in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Planning Manager with significant experience in major rail schemes to join their team in Leeds on a contract basis. This role involves leading and inspiring a team working on a major rail programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conducting periodic programme reviews and maintaining schedules
  2. Integrating risk management into planning processes
  3. Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure project alignment with goals
  4. Reporting on project progress and potential issues
  5. Leading and motivating project teams
  6. Managing integration of multiple contractor submissions into programme-level schedules
  7. Utilising advanced IT systems and planning software tools
  8. Upholding NEC4 schedule contractual requirements
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in major rail projects is essential
  • Minimum of 5 years in project/programme planning and familiarity with associated software tools
  • Minimum of 10 years involved in major engineering projects
  • Understanding of NEC4 schedule contractual requirements
  • Proficiency in both basic and advanced IT systems
  • Proven experience with technical engineering, construction, and access disciplines
  • Strong communication skills across all organisational levels
  • Ability to work effectively within teams and demonstrate shared successes
  • Graduate level with strategic thinking abilities
  • Experience operating P6 loadspring database and managing security privileges
  • Extensive knowledge in creating and updating scheduling strategies and processes
  • Understanding of schedule assurance processes for projects and programmes
  • Familiarity with Power BI
