Overview

Planning Lawyer - Associate - Cardiff

Ready to shape the future of places and communities? A top 100 firm with a nationally recognised Planning team is seeking an Associate to join their Cardiff office. You'll work at the heart of transformative projects supporting both public and private sector clients on initiatives from urban extensions to major regeneration schemes, and be part of a specialist team of planning law experts.

The successful candidate will be technically sharp, commercially savvy and creatively minded. You'll be a natural communicator, able to simplify complexity and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Drafting key documents including s106 agreements, planning reports, and litigation materials
  • Handling litigation: pre-action correspondence, pleadings, liaising with courts, and preparing trial bundles
  • Tracking critical deadlines and ensuring procedural compliance
  • Advising clients on planning systems and processes with clarity and precision
Requirements / Qualifications

• Planning law specialist with strong technical ability, commercial awareness and creative thinking.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts and build relationships with stakeholders.

• Experience working on high-profile planning projects, and the ability to contribute effectively within a specialist planning team.
