Overview

JOB TITLE: Planning Enforcement Team Leader
REF: NW Leicestershire 5277727
Pay rate: £33.00 per hour PAYE
Contract Type: Temporary, anticipated 2 to 3 months
Working Arrangement: Office based and around the local area.
A current full UK Driving Licence.

In order to apply for this role you will have previous experience of planning enforcement or alternatively have experience of determining planning applications. A current full UK Driving Licence is also essential. You will have enough experience to work as Team Leader.

Role

On behalf of a local council, we are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to lead a local authority Enforcement Team. Day to day you will be the team leader for a planning enforcement team and carry out duties in relation to breaches of planning control, monitoring planning conditions and unauthorised developments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and support a team of Enforcement Officers to deliver high-quality services
  • Undertake inspections and other monitoring visits to assess compliance with relevant legislation
  • Investigate alleged breaches of legislation
  • Write reports relating to planning investigations, draft formal notices and update computer records
  • Take appropriate enforcement action against those failing to comply with relevant legislation
  • Represent the Council at enforcement appeals, public inquiries and in court when necessary
  • Respond to all service requests within the remit of the work of the team
  • Provide advice and guidance as the Team Leader
What the client is looking for
  • Previous experience of enforcement, planning enforcement or alternatively have experience of determining planning applications and be able to demonstrate experience of associated enforcement issues
  • A current full UK Driving Licence
  • Evidence of knowledge and awareness of enforcement legislation including Planning Legislation and good practice guidance
  • Experience of implementing and enforcing legislation
  • Evidence of effectively undertaking both inspections, investigations and enforcement action
  • Report writing experience
