Overview

Contract: 3-month temporary role (with potential for extension)

Pay Rate: £14.50 – £15.50 per hour

Working Arrangement: 100% office-based in modern Manchester offices

About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive and organised Dispatcher / Planner to a global leader in smart building and security solutions. Based in their Manchester office, you’ll play a key role in coordinating a team of engineers across the South of the UK and Ireland, ensuring smooth operations and excellent customer service.

This is a fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You’ll be assigning work, ordering and arranging delivery of materials, liaising with customers, and keeping everything running like clockwork.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Assigning jobs to engineers based on location, availability, and skillset.
  • Ordering required materials and coordinating delivery to site or local collection points.
  • Acting as the central point of contact between engineers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Managing customer expectations and resolving issues professionally and efficiently.
  • Supporting a team of 6–8 engineers and ensuring service delivery runs smoothly.
  • Thinking on your feet and using initiative to adapt to last-minute changes.
What We’re Looking For
  • Essential: Strong customer service or contact centre experience.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and solve problems proactively.
  • Organised, adaptable, and confident using multiple systems.
  • Desirable: Experience in planning, scheduling, or dispatching roles. Familiarity with field service operations. A natural collaborator who enjoys working in a team-focused environment.
