Location: Leeds

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to support a top-20 UK planning consultancy in their search for a Planner or Senior Planner. With a team of 50+ town planners across six regional hubs, they also offer complementary services including socio-economic, heritage, master planning, and architectural services. They seek an ambitious planner to join the North West team to drive projects and support business development activities.

The company specializes in coordinating, project managing, and auditing planning applications, providing expert guidance on issues such as EIA development, urban regeneration, strategic planning, and commercial/retail planning.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Relevant Planning qualification
  • Membership of RTPI or working towards it
  • Understanding of the planning process and systems
  • Excellent writing skills with high accuracy
  • Strong communication skills and approachable manner
  • Driven, committed, enthusiastic, and a team player

Role Responsibilities:

  • Advising on development potential of land and buildings
  • Assisting with preparing planning applications and appeals
  • Providing policy advice and research
  • Drafting representations for plan consultations and examinations
  • Identifying land opportunities
  • Collaborating with clients and consultants to deliver development projects
  • Supporting business development activities

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues, clients, and consultants from initial advice and design stages to securing consent and discharge of conditions. Opportunities include supporting Planning Appeals and Local Plan Examinations.
