Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Planner. As a Planner, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining schedules for engineering, procurement, and construction projects. Working closely with various teams and stakeholders to ensure timely completion of activities and adherence to project timelines.
Responsibilities
- Collect all necessary information to create schedules following Works Order rules.
- Link tasks across engineering, procurement, and construction teams for each project and full programme.
- Estimate task durations and identify the critical path.
- Develop tender & construction programmes based on allocated budget and resources.
- Collaborate with the procurement team and suppliers to confirm delivery dates for materials and equipment.
- Negotiate timelines for work with site managers and subcontractors.
- Update detailed schedules with new information from engineering, procurement, and site teams.
- Plan weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly project activities.
- Create and send schedules.
- Assess risks and create contingency plans for the programme.
- Produce progress reports and visual representations of project forecasts.
- Draw up a construction program.
- Define methods and establish outputs with the wider team including supply chain.
- Prepare a resourced program, outcome confidence, and expectations.
- Contribute to and establish a programme risk analysis throughout the build.
- Prepare visual materials in support of planning methods.
- Prepare and maintain the contractual programme to meet reporting requirements, both internal and external.
- Work with site teams to understand progress, milestones, and activities.
- Report programmes to NEC form of contract.
Qualifications
- HNC/HND or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, etc.
- Substantial experience in a wide range of civil engineering, up to Sub Agent level before converting to Planner.
- Experience working with site-based teams and communicating across multiple disciplines.
- Ability to manage and prioritize workloads across multiple projects.
- Strong IT and reporting skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
