We are looking for an enthusiastic UK Logistics Centre Operations Placement Student to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Corporate/CBS Business Segment in UK, Daventry. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence Summer of 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities within the facility and rolling out improvement projects.
  • Using Continuous Improvement and Industrial Engineering techniques to measure processes and quantify improvements.
  • Ergonomics projects to improve manual handling processes with the use of lifting equipment.
  • Coordinating cross‑functional UK Logistics Centre projects with strategic importance to business transitions or processes.
  • Review and improve current picking & packing processes for production & aftermarket customers.
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions, data analysis and presenting findings to the leadership team. Share best practices with other sites in the Cummins network.
QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • We are looking for a wide range of applicants studying towards a Business/Supply Chain/Logistics/Planning/Statistics degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present confidently to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Solution orientated with excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Excel would be beneficial.
