Job summary

A global consulting and engineering firm in Reading is seeking a skilled Piping (Layout) Designer for a 12-month contract on a refinery upgrade project. This full-time role requires proven expertise in Plant Layout and experience in downstream oil and gas projects. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and Hexagon S3D capability. You will collaborate with various engineering disciplines to ensure project standards are met.

Wood in Reading are seeking Piping (Layout) Designer for a refinery upgrade FEED project. This is a contract position which will run for 12 months. This role will be based in our Green Park, Reading office full time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proven expertise in Plant Layout
• Provide feedback and input to Design Supervisor to support project execution and delivery
• Demonstrates good communication with project personnel
• Good coordination with all engineering disciplines to develop the design
• Development of Plot Plan to meet project standards and project delivery requirements
• Ability to solve complex problems
• Ensure quality requirements are met for designated scope

QUALIFICATIONS

• Pre-FEED and FEED experience required
• Detailed Design experience beneficial
• Middle East project experience preferred
• Downstream Oil and Gas experience required
• Greenfield and Brownfield project experience required
• Module and / or Offshore experience required
• Onshore mega-module experience preferred
• Good knowledge of industry codes and standards
• Hexagon S3D capability required
