Overview

Role: Senior Staff Nurse - Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Location: The Portland Hospital for Women & Children

Full time: 37.5 hours per week • Permanent

Shift times: Monday - Sunday (flexibility required to work long days, Nights & weekends)

Salary: £Competitive + Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development)

*Additional £3,000 on your salary per annum as per PICU qualification AND For a limited time, we are offering a £10,000 welcome bonus to nurses that successfully join the team (T&Cs apply)

Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for the unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge nurse
  • Develop, implement and evaluate holistic care plans for children in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Act as a role model and mentor to junior/student nurses
  • Develop long-standing relationships with children and their families
  • Support collaboration and growth within a close team
Qualifications
  • NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support
  • Post Graduate experience working in a PICU setting
  • Understanding of safeguarding issues
  • Teaching and mentoring experience desirable
  • Completion of a PICU Course equivalent to 60 credits
  • Excellent clinical governance and experience with audits
  • Experience supervising and assessing students and shift leading desirable
