Job Summary

Are you a passionate and motivated Physiotherapist looking for a flexible opportunity to top up your current hours or try something new, in a new environment? We offer flexible working hours on our bank across urgent care and inpatient wards to suit your current lifestyle as we know work / life balance is important. We are particularly looking for physiotherapists to support our weekend service across urgent care and medical wards.

The Therapy team holds a high profile within the wider trust and is at the forefront of many service development strategies, continually developing and introducing new, pioneering prospects for the service.

Main Duties
  • Provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
  • Plan and prioritise own patient caseload, working with support of a senior member of staff. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions and peer review.
  • Undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Provide high quality, evidence-based care across the seven day service and participate in the oncall rota for adults, children and young people as the service requires.

Essential Qualifications

  • Professional Physiotherapy qualification. State Registered Physiotherapist

Desirable Qualifications

  • Member of CSP

Essential Knowledge / Experience

  • Good range of core pre-reg student placements
  • Previous experience of working within an Acute NHS setting
  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams.

Desirable Knowledge / Experience

  • Previous working in a care / public sector environment

Essential Skills

  • Evidence of well-developed good clinical reasoning skills.
  • Proven Physiotherapy Respiratory skills appropriate to Band 5 level
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of Physiotherapy working practices within an Acute NHS setting.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Able to undertake moderate to intense physical effort throughout the day
  • Ability to keep accurate and legible notes.
  • Evidence of having developed a wide clinical knowledge base within student placements and early professional career.
  • Good awareness of national and NHS strategies
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of the principles underlying the appropriate delegation of tasks to others
  • Ability to work across 7 day service
  • Car driver or able to travel to the trust within 45 minutes when responding to oncalls (24 hours)

  • Evidence of post graduate training if not 1st post
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment.
  • Understanding of legal responsibilities of the profession.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of national strategies and impact on service provision.
