A leading security solutions provider in the UK is hiring a Physical Security & Access Control Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, testing, installation, and servicing of physical security systems. Essential qualifications include a City & Guilds Level 3 certificate and experience in client liaison and system maintenance. Physical Security & Access Control Engineer – Responsible for planning, testing, installation, and service of physical security and access control systems for various job sites. Acts as liaison between engineers and clients, ensuring progress visibility and issue resolution during implementation.
• Conduct site surveys and produce installation plans aligned with client requirements.
• Terminate and test structured cabling for IP-based systems, delivering client training and handover documentation.
• Ensure all work meets BS7671 and manufacturer guidelines.
• Perform cable runs and trunking in high-traffic environments.
• Support maintenance contracts and react to fault calls.
• Communicate with customers and site contacts, maintaining adherence to site rules, procedures, and H&S.
• Provide progress updates to Project Manager and Resource Planner.
• Maintain project documentation and sign-offs.
• Configure, perform diagnostics, and update firmware of logging services and asset registers.
• Prepare tools, equipment, consumables, and installation documentation.
• Perform post‑implementation fault finding, testing, and repair of audio‑visual equipment for various job sites.
Essential:
• City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electronic Security and CCTV Systems or similar.
• Client liaison and technical documentation experience.
• Fault diagnosis and system maintenance.
• Compliance with UK electrical safety standards.
• Effective communication skills at all levels; good numeracy, written, and organisational skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload, work independently and as part of a team.
• Good time‑keeping, PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Clean driving licence, IPAF 3a/3b Licence, ECS, PASMA.
• Basic PC and software skills.
