Job Title: PHP Developer

Salary: Up to £45,000

Location: Shoreham-by-Sea (Hybrid - every Wednesday working in office)

The PHP Developer is responsible for building new functionality and supporting existing functionality across Focus Group’s portfolio of internal applications and services.

This role involves working closely with the internal development team to develop set deliverables that are fit for purpose.

Principal Responsibilities/Duties

• Develop change requests and fixes on Focus Bespoke CMS and CRM applications.
• Write unit tests and collaborate with the QA Analyst to ensure new developments meet acceptance criteria.
• Participate in support desk activities on a rota basis for development-related issues.
• Contribute to projects as required by the business.
• Engage actively in standups, team meetings, and planning sessions.

Essential Skills

• Strong ability in writing unit tests.
• Understanding of Javascript, JQuery, Vue.js.
• Experience using SQL (preferably MariaDB/MySQL).
• Proficiency in HTML5 / CSS / Bootstrap and Laravel.
• Knowledge of API Development / PostMan.
• Experience with Git version control and branching.
• Ability to build meaningful relationships with colleagues.
• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Customer-focused with a desire to understand and meet customer requirements.
• Experience in the software development lifecycle.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Passionate about delivering high-quality products and maintaining standards.
• Team player with problem-solving skills.

Desired Skills

• Experience with billing systems (Telecoms, MSP, ICT).
• Exposure to CRM systems.
• Experience with CMS systems.
• Relevant industry experience.
• Interest or knowledge in cloud development.
• Understanding of development security principles.
• Exposure to .NET framework is a plus.
