You will participate in the medicines reconciliation process, supply of medication during Inpatient stay, support effective and timely discharge and patient counselling. This role offers many opportunities to interact with patients and their carers, as well as the wider multidisciplinary team. We actively encourage interest from Pharmacy Technicians across all sectors and have a wealth of experience within the team to support transition from other sectors of pharmacy towards hospital pharmacy. We welcome applications from pre‑registration Trainee Pharmacy technicians completing their qualification within the next three months. Entry level will be at a Band 4 (unless already Band 5) - previous experience, qualification and accreditations will be considered. Candidates will be regraded to Band 5 once in‑house accreditation completed. Our department is proud to prioritise the inclusion of all staff and we support everyone to achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

    • To improve the quality of care to patients in Clinical and Ward areas by means of an efficient medicines management system. This will include the use of patients' own drugs (PODS), providing Inpatient supply dispensing, near‑patient discharge systems and counselling patients about their medicines.
    • To support the Pharmacy team in the delivery of the departmental medicines management strategy via provision of technical Ward based Pharmacy Services.
    • To rotate around defined clinical areas according to experience.
