Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Team at HMP Garth.

HMP Garth has a capacity of around 800 males and is a category B prison located in Lancashire.

The Pharmacy Technician will work mainly medicines management and wing based medicines administration. The pharmacy team are based within the healthcare department; however the majority of work will be wing based.

Hours
  • Monday - Friday
  • 37.5 hours over 4 days
  • 7.30am - 5.30pm
  • Weekend work will be starting in the near future which will be around 1 / 4 weekends

You will receive an annual salary of between £33,232 - £40,211 per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
  • You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
