Pharmacy Assistant
The Winterbourne Hospital
22.5 Hours & Permanent
Salary: Up to 25350.00 FTE per year (depending on level of experience training and qualification)

The Winterbourne Hospital in Dorchester is part of Circle Health Group Britains leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy department.

This is a part‑time role for 22.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

Assist in the preparation and labelling of medicines for inpatients outpatients and discharge prescriptions under appropriate supervision.

Support the safe supply of medicines ensuring accurate picking packing and distribution to wards and departments.

Ensure all processes follow local policies and national regulations related to medicine handling and safety.

Monitor stock levels and expiry dates helping maintain accurate inventory across the pharmacy and clinical areas.

Receive and check deliveries ensuring correct storage of medications in line with temperature and security guidelines.

Assist with stock rotation and removal of expired or returned medicines.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Good general education including literacy and numeracy skills.

Experience in a customer service healthcare or stock‑handling role.

Good communication and organisational skills.

Attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under supervision.
