Drew lives with a physical disability as well as learning, developmental, and cognitive needs, and is seeking someone who can offer practical support, patience, and genuine care. This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, open‑minded, and eager to help promote greater independence.

About the Role

Daily duties may include:

  • Supporting/prompting personal care needs such as showering, shaving, laundry, and tidying
  • Assisting with medication
  • Preparing meals and healthy snacks
  • Supporting participation in physical activities (e.g., walks, wheelchair outings), gradually working toward more ambitious goals
  • Providing mobility support, including pushing a manual wheelchair when needed and encouraging rest when required
  • Household shopping and collecting prescriptions
  • Any other daily living tasks that promote independence
  • Providing companionship and supporting social activities

A full driving licence is essential; the successful candidate will be required to use their own vehicle (mileage allowance provided).

About Drew

Drew enjoys Dungeons & Dragons, science and nature, socialising when able, reading, travel, and learning about people and the world. There are dogs in the home, so you must be comfortable working around pets. Drew is partially mobile—sometimes walking is possible, sometimes mobility assistance is needed. This fluctuating mobility is genuine and should always be respected.

Applicants must be accepting of varying gender presentation and LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Experience & Training

Experience is desirable but not essential—full training will be provided.

The most important qualities are:

  • A warm and friendly nature
  • Willingness to listen and learn about another person’s experiences
  • A genuine desire to work in a caring, supportive role
Health & Safety

Because this role involves close contact with a vulnerable individual, preference may be given to applicants who are fully vaccinated against Covid‑19. Applicants who are unable to be vaccinated for reasonable grounds will also be considered with care.
