A local government authority in Belmont is looking for a Support Worker to assist a client with building confidence and engagement in community activities such as grocery shopping and swimming. The successful candidate will provide emotional support and assistance in their weekly outings, requiring experience with mental health, swimming capability, and access to a car. This part-time role is crucial to help the client regain independence and confidence in everyday tasks.
Support Worker required to support Sarah (aged 44 years) who lives in Gilesgate, Durham. Sarah is usually an outgoing person but has lost a lot of self‑confidence recently. Sarah has a diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder and experiences thought broadcasting and constant voice hearing. Sarah requires support to build up her confidence in accessing the community; particularly in going swimming and grocery shopping.
4 hours per week £13 per hour. Two 2‑hour slots each week, on weekday mornings, preferably on Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays.
