To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
Our son is 17 years old, he is a happy, laid‑back individual. He likes to play on the floor with toys, watch his iPad and sing and dance. He has a learning disability and recently suffered a stroke which has left him with a physical disability. He is adapting after the stroke and is re‑learning to communicate and feed himself, which is going quite well. He needs support with all personal care, feeding and other day‑to‑day activities. He will also need support from his PA to help with re‑learning tasks such as using a spoon to feed himself and other tasks requiring fine dexterity. Our son is looking to explore the local community and engage in activities suited to his abilities, including days out to the park, or beach and maybe trips to specialist centres that have play equipment he can access.
