About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and visionary midwife to join our team. Perinatal Pelvic Health Services (PPHS) will lead local delivery of the national ambition to improve the prevention, identification, and referral to NICE‑recommended treatment for pelvic health problems during pregnancy and for at least 12 months following birth.

Key responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive assessment of PPHS care needs for women with identified pelvic health and perineal conditions with the support of the specialist midwife.
  • Pre and postnatal education, working within the PPHS multidisciplinary team and seeing patients in a clinical setting.
  • Triage referrals to the service, liaising with appropriate agencies and completing appropriate care and education for these women.
  • Support the service by working alongside and under the indirect supervision of the Specialist Midwife for perineal and pelvic health and the PPHS physiotherapy team, providing targeted midwifery advice.
  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with other agencies, involving the women in the organisation of care provided.
Qualifications and attributes
  • Broad knowledge of all areas of midwifery and a passion around pelvic health and perineal care services.
  • Flexible, innovative and resilient with excellent organisational skills.
  • Understanding of Perinatal Pelvic Health Services and Perineal care services, although training and support from the specialist Perineal and pelvic health midwife will be provided on appointment.
