Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation in Burton on Trent who are seeking a Pensions Accountant to join their team. This role sits within the HR department, working closely with the Finance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate accounting and reporting of the company's pension schemes, supporting both the Trustee and the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ownership of pension scheme accounting and postings
  • Cash book preparation and processing adviser payments
  • Coordination of VAT claims with the Tax Manager
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts and company pension disclosures
  • Supporting and coordinating pension scheme audits
  • Producing monthly forecasts for finance and actuarial teams
  • Liaising with third-party administrators on cashflow and data reconciliations
  • Working with Finance and Payroll on monthly DC contributions
About You
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in pensions or trustee accounting preferred
  • Strong stakeholder management skillsAudit experience e.g. working with and co-ordinating auditors
  • Good technical financial accounting skills with knowledge of internal controls
