Overview

Reeson Education are supporting a secondary school in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey who require a PE Teacher. This is a full-time role from September 2025. The successful candidate should have the capability to teach GCSE PE, creating challenging and thought-provoking lessons with an emphasis on creativity and collaboration.

The School: PE Teacher, Secondary School, Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey.

Responsibilities
  • Teach PE to KS3/4.
  • Ensure students are taught in line with the most up-to-date examination specifications.
  • Adhere to the departmental schemes of work.
  • Keep records of students attendance in lessons via SIMS.
  • Follow the guidelines for high quality teaching as defined in the Staff Handbook.
  • Set, mark, and assess work as stated in the Staff Handbook.
  • Use of resources; checking of student files; learning support; use of ICT; health and safety procedures.
  • Classroom management as defined in the schools classroom management and behaviour policy.
  • Attend in-service training and classroom observation plus feedback sessions as requested by the Head of Department.

Key accountabilities
  • Teach PE KS3/4.
  • Assist in the development of programmes of study, materials and schemes of work and participate in professional development programmes.
  • Follow school policies and procedures in respect of the duties of a classroom teacher and form tutor.
  • Perform the duties of a Form Tutor (as required).
  • Contribute to the cultural and community life of the school through leadership of agreed activities within the extracurricular programme.
