A healthcare provider in Gloucester is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join its Primary Care Network. The role combines patient engagement with medicines optimisation and clinical support. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, run telephone clinics, and conduct medication reviews. The ideal candidate has a GPhC registration and at least two years of experience, along with strong organisational and communication skills. This position allows you to shape services for better patient outcomes.
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our Primary Care Network (PCN) team, playing a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. This is a varied and rewarding position that combines medicines optimisation, clinical support, and direct patient engagement to improve outcomes and reduce medicines-related risks for our patients.
As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with GPs, clinical pharmacists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure patients receive safe, effective, and evidence-based treatment. You will be instrumental in supporting prescribing processes, resolving medication-related queries, and contributing to the development of safer, more efficient systems for repeat prescribing and medicines reconciliation.
A significant part of your role will involve running your own telephone clinics, particularly for those with uncomplicated hypertension and hypercholesterolaemia, as well as other long-term conditions such as asthma, COPD, and hypothyroidism. These clinics will focus on medication reviews, monitoring requirements, and supporting patients to optimise their use of medicines. You will be empowered to make recommendations for therapy changes in line with clinical protocols and in collaboration with senior pharmacists and GPs.

This is a forward-thinking role with scope to develop and shape services, particularly in the area of long-term condition management. You will be encouraged to take initiative, contribute to service development, and work collaboratively across the PCN to deliver consistent, high-quality care. You will work closely with pharmacy staff and prescription clerks, receiving direct support and supervision to thrive in your role.
