A recruitment agency is seeking a Temporary Payroll Adviser for a District Council based in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Temporary Payroll Adviser for a District Council based in Nottinghamshire.

Location: Kirkby-in-Ashfield (hybrid)
Contract: Initial 3 months (could be extended for a further 3)
Salary: £14.84 PAYE or £19.71 UMB per hour

Skills

  • Ability to accurately undertake any calculations associated with payroll
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of PAYE, SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP and national insurance.
  • Knowledge of real-time information and pension auto-enrolment requirements.
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation and its practical application and current developments in payroll practice.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme regulations.
  • Local authority conditions of service in relation to payroll experience.
Experience
  • Substantial use of computerised payroll systems and computer software where accuracy is essential.
  • Substantial experience in a payroll provision.
  • Substantial experience in payroll calculations e.g. manual calculations, restructure calculations, equal pay and settlements to a high standard.
  • Experience and competence in using a range of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Qualifications
  • Level 3 payroll qualification (e.g. Advanced Certificate in Payroll procedures or NVQ3 in Payroll Administration).
  • Level 2 qualification to demonstrate numeracy and significant experience in payroll administration.
