About Us

At e-ppl, we're dedicated to providing skilled, flexible teams of technicians who bring expertise and precision to every project. Specialising in a broad spectrum of services — from addressing part defects and post-production repairs to handling complex prototype builds, vehicle conversions, and electrification — our team is equipped to tackle the unique challenges of today's automotive and manufacturing sectors.

We're currently seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our established team based in Coventry, to support our payroll operations with accuracy, efficiency and confidentiality. You'll play a key role in ensuring timely payments, maintaining compliance and supporting our workers with clear, dependable payroll guidance.

You will be responsible for the accurate and efficient execution of the payroll function and associated administrative support. Data is provided from our field Operations Teams, which is then imported and processed by the Payroll Administration team. The same source data is applied to not only payments to the workforce, but also creates the customer billing profiles, hence why accuracy is of paramount importance.

Payroll & Compliance
  • Manage the end-to-end processing of weekly payroll for contract workers using our Payroll Systems
  • Maintain and update employee records, and manage any changes in accordance with the company's processes and procedures
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee enquiries related to pay and deductions, ensuring timely and confidential resolution, or appropriate escalation
Administration & Support
  • Provide high-level administrative support, including handling workforce and client queries via phone, email, and in person
  • Collaborate with the Manpower Planning & Recruitment teams, to ensure accurate employee data
  • Collaborate with the Commercial department to ensure Quotations and Purchase Orders are in place and maintained
  • Provide evidence where needed to support collection of customer debt
  • Support colleagues and Line Managers to provide an accurate and efficient service, including responding to payroll-related queries
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, and management
  • Some knowledge of PAYE, Credit Control, Remittances, VAT, Employers NI, Employee Tax and National insurance processes would be advantageous, although full training will be given according to knowledge and experience
Requirements
  • Honesty, Integrity and Confidentiality are essential requirements of any position in a Payroll related function
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy when handling and processing data
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude toward feedback and uses it to enhance performance (i.e. Have the ability to take constructive feedback to improve, rather than see it as criticism).
  • Able to maintain focus and productivity in environments with frequent interruptions or background noise
  • A proactive, organised, and professional approach to administration
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Some form of higher level Payroll or Data Analyst related qualification, or experience of working in a payroll processing role would be advantageous, but not essential
  • Good IT skills including the use of payroll software
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookup, Formulas etc)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence
Mandatory Requirements
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • A DBS/Background Check will be conducted
