Job summary

A premier educational institution in Burnley is seeking a Pastoral Mentor to work on a 1:1 basis with students, focusing on enhancing their motivation, wellbeing, and behavior. Responsibilities include acting as a first point of contact for pastoral concerns and liaising with staff to effectively support students. Ideal candidates should have experience working with young people in an educational setting and possess excellent communication skills. The position offers a salary of up to £27,128 pro rata.

Qualifications

  • Good general education with Literacy/Numeracy qualification to at least Level 2, or commitment to complete within first year of employment.

Pastoral Mentor

Burnley College Sixth Form Centre is looking for a Pastoral Mentor who will work primarily on a 1:1 basis with students to deliver mentoring sessions and provide targeted, solution focused, task centred support to improve student motivation, wellbeing and behaviour.

Burnley College Sixth Form Centre is located in the heart of Pennine Lancashire and is the country's Number One College, providing first-class Further Education, University Education, Apprenticeship, business training and adult learning programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with lecture staff, support staff and other Learning Support staff to effectively support students.

The salary for this post is up to £27,128 pro rata.

Employment at the College is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check via the Disclosure and Barring Service and any post involving regulated activity will also be subject to an additional barred list check.
