Overview

We are seeking an Executive Assistant/Personal Assistant interested in a maternity contract working part-time for our Deputy Heads starting in October 2025. The appointed PA will support the two Deputy Heads of Shiplake College during a period of maternity leave (up to one year). This is a great opportunity for the successful applicant to continue to build and develop the role.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level PA support to the two Deputy Heads, including calendar management, communications, and diary coordination.
  • Undertake a varied range of PA duties with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
  • Maintain integrity and confidentiality, adopting a calm and approachable manner in all interactions.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, parents, and external contacts as required.
  • Prepare materials and documents for meetings, presentations, and reports.

Note: The contracted hours are 26 per week (5 hours on four days and 6 hours on one day, as agreed in advance). This is a term-time only plus INSET position, with up to two weeks of work during the school holidays (compensation arranged separately).

About Shiplake College

Shiplake College is an independent boarding and day school for around 580 pupils aged 11 to 18. It is fully co-educational, with a co-educational Sixth Form since 1998 and girls admitted from Year 7 since September 2023. Located on 63 acres near Henley-on-Thames, the College offers small class sizes, excellent facilities and dedicated teaching staff.
