A leading educational institution in England is looking for a part-time Facilities Officer to ensure the campus is secure and well-maintained. We are looking for a proactive part‑time Facilities Officer to support the Senior Facilities Officer and Operations Supervisor in providing the school's support service, ensuring the campus is secure, safe, and maintained for pupils, staff and visitors in line with agreed service standards. This role is part‑time, working 11‑21 hours per week all year round.
You will unlock and lock buildings and facilities as required, maintain security of campus, buildings and facilities, and deal with any breaches. You will undertake a maintenance plan as instructed, carrying out repairs, maintaining equipment, and overseeing the daily upkeep of heating, lighting, water, drainage and other services. You will provide support for lettings and school events, undertake cleaning duties and keep grounds tidy, including sweeping pathways and emptying litter bins daily. You will clean all school vehicles inside and out at least weekly, and prior to all excursions, promoting the school in a professional image, and will drive school vehicles as required.
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting. Relevant qualifications in facilities or a related field, including IOSHH and MIDAS (or willingness to undertake them). Experience of caretaking, plumbing, carpentry/joinery, painting and IEE wiring regulations is desirable. You must be a team player with a flexible approach to working hours; shift patterns vary depending on school needs.
