Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a permanent part-time Administration Assistant based at The Landermere Centre, Clacton on Sea.

This role involves providing front-line administrative support to clinical colleagues face to face and on the telephone. The post holder will work Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Full training on the systems used will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a comprehensive administration service within the Trust’s Localities and ensure the timely and accurate recording of activity across services using Trust information systems.
  • Offer cover for absence across all services/locations; be prepared to relocate to provide cover as required.
  • Maintain safeguarding confidentiality as a pre-requisite for the Administration Assistant role.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information between staff, patients and carers in person or on the telephone; provide courteous, empathetic, and effective communication, including when dealing with distressed individuals.
  • Record accurate messages and follow departmental guidelines for escalation and follow-up.
  • Work as part of the Directorate’s Administration Service to support clinical services and functions within the Trust’s localities, including providing cover in other areas as requested.
  • Deal with queries from patients, relatives, GPs and other healthcare professionals, including non-routine and complex issues where needed.
  • Assist patients and families seeking information and be aware of the needs of the client group, handling interactions with sensitivity to potential hostility or aggression.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent communication skills and relevant administrative experience; ability to use own initiative and prioritise tasks.
  • Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; willingness to undergo full training on Trust systems.
  • Positive, compassionate approach to supporting patient care and the ability to manage front-line duties in a demanding environment.
