About the Role

The job purpose is to support the service, working as part of a small team providing parking enforcement and permit arrangements including being the first contact point for customers within legislative deadlines.

You will be responsible for investigating and responding to challenges and representations in line with the council’s procedures including preparing and producing correspondence for appeal hearings.

Your role will involve taking telephone calls from members of the public and providing advice on parking related matters.

You will process queries and reconcile payments in respect of penalty charge notices and resident parking permit queries.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or NVQ 2 plus willingness to undertake Level 3) in Business and Administration or equivalent qualification plus experience as detailed below.

And

Demonstrable experience identified within the section below.

  • Experience of administration and/or financial processes.
  • Experience of working with the public, in particular dealing with irate or distressed customers by phone or in person.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft packages and/or in a wide variety of software packages, including databases.
  • Ability to work flexibly and under pressure in order to meet tight deadlines with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to produce work to a consistently high standard.
  • The post holder must have the ability to converse with ease with customers and provide advice and information in accurate spoken English
