A regional ambulance service is seeking a Paramedic Learning Facilitator to support learning experiences for paramedics across Bolton and Wigan. Paramedic Learning Facilitator Band 7 (Section 2 USH), permanent role. Supports sectors to deliver the best possible learning experiences for learners and mentors/practice educators within PES Operations.
This role suits individuals with a strong background in supporting learners and a passion for improving learner experiences.
Suitable candidates will be qualified to degree level as a paramedic and will have experience supporting learners as a practice educator/mentor and have completed a relevant mentoring learner module.
Ideally candidates will hold or be working towards relevant teaching/learning qualifications at the point of application; however, for the right candidates these will be provided following appointment.
Applications will be shortlisted against the relevant criteria in the person specification for this role. Candidates should describe their experience supporting a range of learners in the practice environment and the impact on those learners.
The Paramedic Learning Facilitator will report to the Sector Manager and work as an integral part of the Sector management team, supporting, evaluating and improving the learner and mentor/practice educator experience within the Sector.
The post holder will report on learner experiences, using data, analysing learner experiences and activities and provide assurance of quality and develop action plans to enable the delivery of consistent and highly valued learner programmes in the Sector.
Paramedic Learning Facilitators will spend 70% of their time working operational shifts with identified learners on a double crewed ambulance (DCA). The role will not follow a fixed rota and will have the flexibility to determine the required working pattern to meet the needs of learners, recognising that different sectors may develop different operating models.
They will work closely with rostering teams and the sector management team to plan shifts with learners.
The remaining 30% of time (non‑operational) will be protected to support individual and sector‑based learning activities, working in partnership with the local sector and workforce development teams.
