Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Paramedic to join our Primary Care team at HMP Stafford, a category C Prison located in Staffordshire.

HMP Stafford has a capacity of 753 males, aged 21+.

Hours:

This role is a permanent role based on 23.5 hours per week:

  • 2 x 11.5 hour shifts per week (Mon to Sun)
  • 1 weekend in 3

Salary:

This position is part time; you will receive an annual salary between £34,428 - £41,659 per annum FTE, depending on experience. The salary will be pro‑rota to 23.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

As a Paramedic, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Provide outstanding evidence‑based care to patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them – focussing on emergency and unplanned care to patients with both primary care and acute care needs.
  • Deliver non‑judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
  • Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.

Qualifications and experience
  • Qualified Paramedic
  • Current professional registration (HCPC)
  • Proven post‑registration ambulance experience
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • A non‑judgemental and compassionate approach
  • Proven experience in either Accident & Emergency, Primary Care environments or Minor injuries / illness

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
